Front boards bear title in elaborate script in gold. All edges textblock feature decorative marbled pattern, as well as the endpapers. Quarto (10 1/2 x 7 1/4 inches; 266 x 184 millimeters). Volume I, 783 pages. Volume II, 772 pages. It is quite evident this book was composed with ample heart, and if you have a fascination with the history of the American War for Independence, I believe you will be pleased. A pre Civil War set on the American Revolution! Tremendous. Condition: Very Good-. Some condition issues, which I have endeavored to photograph the most prominent of. Covers of both volumes are worn, stained, and heavily rubbed. Volume I has a 3/4 inch (18 mm) tear at the crown of the spine, the 'A' page of the introduction has been half torn-away (missing), and pages 145-146 and 147 have antique mends. Volume II has an antique mend on page 89-90, and is missing the bottom of page 397-397. On both volumes gutters are split. Pages are age-toned, stains, some foxing.
