Transferware Earthenware Faience depicting Napoleon’s body being transferred to a waiting funeral carriage. The funeral procession across the Neuilly bridge to the Arc de Triumph, and from there along the Champs-Élysées and across the Pont de la Concorde to a funeral service at the Invalides on December 15, 1840.

This plate is part of a series done depicting the return of Napoleon's body from it originally resting place on the remote South Atlantic island of St. Helena to Paris.

Border edges are of a Green Laurel Garland design Alternated with Napoleonic Eagles. The plate is in Very Good condition throughout.
