This cartoon is a satire on the effects of the unsuccessful Walcheren Campaign, a British expedition to the Netherlands.

George Murgatroyd Woodward (1760 - 1809) an English caricaturist and humor writer. He was a friend and drinking companion of Thomas Rowlandson.

Thomas Tegg (1776-1846) Bookseller and publisher in the City of London, specializing in reprints, out-of-copyright publications, remainders and, until 1819, cheap satirical prints.
